Firefox browsing speed can be increased further by doing some tweaks as follows:
Step 1:
Type: "about:config" without quotes in your firefox browser.
Step 2:
Scroll down to network.http.pipelining
Double click the value to change to "True"
Step 3:
Search for network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Change the value to 8 from default 4.
Similarly also change the value of network.http.proxy.piplelining to True.
Step 4:
Go to network.dns.disableIPv6 settings and change the value to "True". Also change the value of plugin.expose_full_path to True.
These tips will help you speed up your browser by allowing multiple connections at the same time and disabling things like IPv6 which are not required on a IPv4 connection.
